Kuwait launches first satellite into space

Kuwait's official news agency reported: Next Tuesday, it will launch its first satellite from a platform in the southeastern US state of Florida.

Kuwait's official news agency reported: Kuwait Sat 1 will send its first signal to the ground station four hours and two minutes after launch.

For his part, the director of operations of Kuwait's first satellite project, Ahmad Kandari said "When the missile reaches its assigned orbit on the satellite, it will separate and then begin to perform all its tasks,".

"The satellite will orbit the Earth and record images with high-quality cameras and send them to be analyzed by a team of experts," he said.

"Those in charge of the project chose the name Kuwait Sat 1, which refers to the Kuwaiti people's desire to launch a satellite into space for the first time," he said.

The project cost more than $1 million and 67 people with different levels of scientific expertise worked on it.
