Hamas delegation meets with Egyptian intelligence chief

Hamas delegation met with Egyptian intelligence chief Abbas Kamil to discuss the ceasefire in Gaza and the exchange of prisoners with Israel.

According to a Hamas statement, the delegation met with the head of Egypt's intelligence agency.

The Hamas delegation called for an agreement that would lead to a complete halt to Israeli attacks, withdrawal from the Gaza Strip, the easy return of Palestinian refugees to their homes, and the resumption of aid to the Palestinians and reconstruction.

The delegation also noted that Hamas wants to reach a prisoner exchange agreement for the release of Israeli prisoners in exchange for Palestinians.

The delegation said it insists with all Palestinian groups on achieving national goals, establishing a fully sovereign Palestinian state with Jerusalem as its capital, and allowing Palestinians to return to their homeland and determine their own destiny.

Prisoner swap and ceasefire talks in Gaza, which Israel has been attacking since October 7, have resumed in Cairo, it was reported yesterday.
