Bashmakh border crossing closed for two weeks

The Iranian Deputy Governor of Sanandaj announced that the movement of tourists at the Bashamakh border crossing is stopped. Only tourists who have traveled to Iran before are allowed to return to the Kurdistan Region.

Ibrahim Zarei, the Iranian deputy governor of Sanandaj, announced during a press conference that the Bashmakh border crossing will be closed for two weeks for travelers, but trade traffic will continue.

He indicated that they had asked the Mayor of Mariwan not to allow Iraqi drivers to enter Iran.
