The Danish cartoonist of the Prophet Muhammad Kurt Westergaard dies at the age of 86
Kurt Westergaard, the Danish cartoonist whose cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad angered many Muslims around the world, has died at the age of 86.
The Berlingsky newspaper reported Sunday that his family said he died after a long illness.
Westergaard has been a cartoonist for the conservative newspaper Jyllands-Posten since the early 1980s.
He became world-famous in 2005 for his controversial cartoon of the Prophet Muhammad in the newspaper.
