According to official statistics, out of a total of 41 million residents of Iraq, more than 7 million citizens are illiterate, which constitutes a quarter of the country's population.
Muayyad Obeidi, spokesman for the Executive Office to Combat Illiteracy in the Iraqi Ministry of Education, announced in a statement to the Iraqi News Agency today, Thursday, October 21, 2021, that their ministry has drawn up a plan to activate all education centers throughout Iraq.
The spokesman indicated that the campaign to combat illiteracy will be on Fridays and Saturdays because there is no building private for combat illiteracy.
