The deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament denies the movement of the Peshmerga forces towards the oil fields in Kirkuk

The second deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament denied that any Peshmerga forces have moved towards the oil fields and believes that the oil minister is creating problems between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad.

Shakhawan Abdullah, the second deputy speaker of the Iraqi parliament, said in a statement that the oil minister is accusing the Peshmerga through the Northern Oil Company, alleging that the Peshmerga violated the Bay Hassan and Daud fields in Kirkuk province.

He added that there was no military movement in the area and this was emphasized by the Peshmerga and federal forces, but the Kurdistan Regional Government denied.

"The oil minister is creating problems between the Kurdistan Region and Baghdad and wants to stay in office after being informed that the parliament will summon him," he said.
