Iraqi Prime Minister said: "We have no alternative but to work together," adding that "the Iraqi people have a common destiny and must work together".

Iraqi Prime Minister Mohammed Shia Sudani has issued a message on the occasion of Newroz saying "On the occasion of Newroz, I extend my warmest congratulations to our beloved Kurdish people in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region and all Iraqi people, in the hope that this great occasion will bring about a bright future".

"We hope that God will restore stability to us," he said in a message congratulating all the peoples of the region who celebrate Newroz.

"Newroz will once again visit all parts of our country and our sons continue to work, build, and strengthen steps to achieve the common aspirations and goals of the Iraqi people, in the light of the government program that reflects their needs and aspirations" he said.

"Newroz reminds us that we have no alternative but to work together and uphold common values and the Iraqi people have a common destiny and must work together," he said.

"This occasion emphasizes the strength of diversity and continuity of the roles of our people and devotes all efforts to provide services and protect rights," the statement said.

"Happy Newroz and a prosperous Iraq that grows on the unity of its people," the message concluded.
