US ambassador to Iraq: The coalition's mission in Iraq is not over

The US ambassador to Iraq revealed information about the joint work between her country and Iraq, as well as the end of the coalition mission.

US Ambassador to Iraq Elena Romanovsky told Reuters: "ISIS remains a serious threat to Iraq and the work of the US-led military coalition with Iraq to completely defeat the organization is not yet complete".

"We and Iraq understand that the threat of ISIS is not over yet, although it has decreased significantly, but our work is not over and we want to ensure that Iraqi forces can continue to defeat ISIS permanently," she said.

"The recent events and terrorist attacks of the terrorist group remind us that ISIS is a common terrorist enemy that must be defeated everywhere," she said.

"The United States and Iraq have a shared commitment to ensuring the permanent defeat of ISIS, especially in working together to shape the future of a partnership for the work of US-Iraqi security forces," she said.
