Sudani in Washington discusses relations between Baghdad and Erbil while trying to lift sanctions on Iraqi banks and personalities.

London's Al-Arabiya Al-Jadeed newspaper reported that an Iraqi Foreign Ministry official said that ending the role of the international coalition, setting a timetable for withdrawal from Iraq, relations between Baghdad and Erbil, and the human rights situation will be among the issues Sudani will discuss with US officials during his visit to the US.

"It will not be just an ordinary visit, but it will be very important, especially as preparations are underway for it from the end of 2023," said Bassem Awadi, spokesman for the Iraqi government.

Sudani wants to resolve outstanding issues with the US side, including security, military, economic and financial issues.

"Sudani is trying to hold direct talks with US officials to withdraw their forces and end the mission of the international coalition," said Arif Hammami, a member of the Coordination Framework.

Emphasizing security partnerships and support for Iraqi forces in the field of training and arming and working to lift the veto on Iraq's contract to purchase advanced air defense.

Financial and economic issues will be a priority, Sudani will discuss at the White House, especially those related to US sanctions on Iraqi banks and efforts to remove them, and working to find a mechanism to repay Iraqi debts.
